Some things are worth highlighting

Lighting makes all the difference

Beautiful wooden windows and doors often deserve special attention.  These, made out of hardwood by  DJ Newman Joinery for a customer in Truro, look magnificent with lighting built into the soffit.

Special glass

As these glazed windows and doors let in so much light, there is a danger of this newly-built garden extension becoming too hot in summer and too cold in winter.  We have managed to reduce this risk by advising our customer to use energy-efficient Pilkington K glass.  This glass is double-glazed and has an invisible coating which dramatically reduces heat transfer and reflects interior heat back into the room.  The same super-efficient glazing was also used for the three roof-lights.  It all makes for a very comfortable extension!
